Meeting Present:
SWCD Personnel: The minutes of the January meeting were mailed to each member prior to the meeting. A motion was made by Lauren Preske to approve the minutes of the January, Les Nunn asked the board to refer to the January financial report. The previous balance 1-1-06 $28,136.27, Receipts 536.11, Debits $3,158.34 and balance as of 1-31-06 $25,514.04.
A motion was made by Holly McCutchan, seconded by Lauren Preske, and carried,
JANUARY CLAIMS Finance Chairman, Holly McCutchan reviewed the claims and asked for a motion to approve the claims. Wayne Fehd made a motion to approve the claims, seconded by Lauren Preske, and carried. OLD BUSINESS: Bonnie reported the Smart Growth Workshop is on schedule and asked if the supervisors had made their follow up calls. Some supervisors reported they had just a few people to get in touch with yet. Bonnie will send another letter this week as a reminder asking for an RSVP and send a flyer. She will send the info to the surrounding counties. Staff met with Paul Bouseman to go over the Clean Water Indiana Grant. Bonnie added the updates and mailed the grant with a return signature requested. Lauren reported she was e-mailing one in for Howell Wetland in the morning. Wayne Fehd made a motion to pay the $300.00 2006 RC&D due, seconded Bonnie reported Lauren Preske is now Vice President of the RC&D Council. Holly reported Bonnie sent in the paperwork and bills for the Clean Water Indiana grant ($500) to reimburse districts for supervisor training. District Operations Committee, Wayne Fehd, Chairman
Holly McCutchan made a motion for expenses to send two people Norma asked for a motion to send Lauren and she to Louisville for Water Quality Training.
Wayne Fehd made a motion for expenses to send Norma and Lauren Norma asked for a motion to send her to Riverwatch Trainers Workshop.
Wayne Fehd made a motion to pay expenses for Norma to attend Bonnie reported the SWCD Supervisor/Staff Training would be held on March 9th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wayne Fehd and Holly McCutchan will be attending. Bonnie will send in the reservations. Supervisor Election was tabled until the March 22nd board meeting. Bonnie asked for signatures for the following Conservation Plans
County employee time sheets were passed for review and signature. Norma gave a report on the Rain Garden presentation she gave for the United Neighborhood of Evansville. She gave a power point presentation and had packets for each. Lauren reminded staff and supervisors of her Earth Day Celebration on April 22nd at Howell Wetland. Norma reported when she gave a water testing presentation to Kay Hoffherr’s class at Central High School some of the students volunteered to help her do some water monitoring. The March meeting was set for March 22, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the Vanderburgh County SWCD conference room.
