2008 STEWARDSHIP WEEK
Each year since 1955 the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) joins with local Soil and Water Conservation Districts to celebrate National Stewardship Week. This program encourages Americans to better understand our natural resources and their role in our prosperity and quality of life. Only through wise use of these resources with personal and social responsibility will this legacy continue. The Vanderburgh County Soil and Water Conservation District sponsors a poster contest for Vanderburgh County 5th graders each year as part of the Stewardship celebration. The 2008 theme is Water is Life. The announcement flyer, rules and entry form are listed below. Also available are classroom presentations by Norma Duckworth, Water Quality Specialist, a brief power point and an educator’s guide. All participating students will receive certificates and stewardship materials. Please contact or our office or visit the
