We are hiring an Invasive Species Technician to serve Vanderburgh, Gibson, Pike, Posey and Warrick County SWCD’s. This position is grant funded for 3 years and will be an employee of the Vanderburgh County SWCD. Vanderburgh County SWCD’s 76th Annual Meeting is February 28th, 2017 at 6 p.m. at the 4-H Center Banquet Hall. The price is $10/person, please call 812-423-4426 x3 to reserve your tickets today. John Foster from Wesselman Woods Nature Society will be speaking on Pollinators this year.
The ENGS will be a three day event held August 29 – 31, 2016 at the Tropicana Conference Center, Evansville, IN. This is the first time in the symposium history that this conference has been in this part of the country. If it is going to be in Indiana, we are going to make it a big and memorable event!
Hot topics include “Improving Soil Health with Native Forages” by Ray Archuleta; “The Art of using Pollinators” by John Foster and “Utilizing Native Warm Season Grasses for Grazing” by Steve Clubine and much more! The symposium attendance will include attendees from all across the Midwest and Southern states and we expect this ENGS to be a record breaking event. There will be speakers on Monday and Tuesday of the symposium with tours on Wednesday morning. Tours will be on Grazing & Wildlife in Warrick County, Patoka Fish & Wildlife Refuge in Gibson County and Angel Mounds-Pollinators-Urban WSG’s, and Green-Roof in Vanderburgh County.
